Episode 6 – Lauren Eddy, El Lago Frontwoman & Zine Queen

The Gallery Podcast presents its very first Halloween episode! Galveston-based musician and founder of the revered music publication WAKE the Zine, Lauren Eddy, joined us in the studio and things got spooky. Originally from Texas City, Lauren and her band El Lago have become a beloved fixture in the Galveston and Houston music scenes. With the upcoming November release of their debut full-length album on Miss Champagne Records, El Lago has set the stage to become a dreamy indie powerhouse with a hypnotic stage presence and impressive sound.

On this episode, we had an earnest discussion about audience turnout and support at local music shows, the challenges faced by newer bands when trying to get on a bill, the making of the music video for El Lago’s single “Colors”, her DIY approach to zine publishing and running a booking collective, interviewing artists for WAKE the Zine, and a whole lot of other hauntingly sweet treats for your listening pleasure.

El Lago will be performing on November 4th at their co-release show at Rockefellers Houston with another local band treasure, VODI.
